If you would have asked me this time last year what my favorite blog was I would have quickly responded, Perez Hilton!
Shameful, I know!
Then after getting engaged I learned of the wonderful world of wedding blogs that have inspired me beyond imagine!
I became obsessed! I still am.
But each week I check them less often.
You see, we've already picked our vendors, know how we want our wedding to look and feel, and to be honest there is already so many things I'd like to try and make/do before the big day that I really can't afford to come across many more grand ideas!
So now I'm obsessing over a different variety of blogs!
Like this one and this one and this one, oh and this lovely one!
They inspire me! They get me really freakin' excited about what lies ahead!
But more importantly they remind me to enjoy today! To love and appreciate the little joys in life! To soak it all in!
Time goes by so quickly. It really feels like just yesterday P and I were standing on a dock in our favorite town and he was asking me to marry him.
Yes, sometimes I wish we could fast forward to October because I'm so very, very excited about this wedding, but today I've made a promise to myself to enjoy these next 5 months with every ounce of my being!
Okay.
That's it.
For now.

Yes! Enjoy today and this special time :)
ReplyDeletehey! that's me up there!! that's so freakin sweet of you!! thank you! you made my day. :)
ReplyDeleteand i completely agree with you. it's so easy to get wrapped up in plans and ideas for the future and to forget to enjoy where you're at. when levi and i first started dating he told me that one of his pastors had told him to fully enjoy whatever stage of a relationship you're at. when you're dating, enjoy the dating because once you're engaged, you'll never be at the place again. and when you're engaged, enjoy your engagement. enjoy every second of planning your wedding and your future, because once you're married, you'll never be there again either. and when you're married, enjoy the time you have together before kids 'cause once those babies come, you certainly won't have that back.
this just really hit home with me when he told me this. it's something i have to remind myself of quite often. i think, as women, we're constantly looking ahead to the next step and trying to line everything up so that we get there as quickly as possible. i can't wait for what lies ahead, but i don't want to regret not enjoying all the amazing things that are happening right now at this very moment.
ummmm....this comment was SO much longer than i intended! hope you don't mind! :)
I love long comments, especially when they have a GREAT message! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you how many times I catch myself saying "I can't wait to have kids, I can't wait to be married!"
It's true, I can't wait, but I'm going to make it a point to remind myself of this when I get wrapped up in the future! Especially when the present is so nice!
Thanks for sharing miss Jasmine!
xo's!
