The Weekend

Not sure if I mentioned in my 'Weekend Update' on Monday that P misplaced he's car key last weekend and once it was time to leave we were unable to find it (he felt SO bad).
We decided to ride home with our amazing friends, The Barzees. Lucky for us they have offered to drop us off tomorrow on their way to a family members house.
Mr. P googled it and we're pretty sure we are only about 20 minutes out of the way for them.
Still, we are out of the way and we are VERY grateful that we have such amazing, caring friends.

The fiancee and I have decided to stick around and spend a nice afternoon in our favorite town before heading back to our humble abode!

I'll be treating my love to lunch at Magnolia and in return I get to hit up Cupcake on King Street and maybe even Baked on East Bay so that I can do a little cupcake taste testing. ;)
Yeah, yeah, I know I just blogged yesterday about my eating/work out goals, but that officially starts on Monday (I just decided that)! :D

Hope everyone has a lovely Easter Weekend filled with Cadbury Eggs, Easter Bunnies and laughter!
See ya' on Monday!

The day my heart stopped beating!

Poppytalk Handmade is a monthly online street market that showcases handmade goods of emerging design talent from around the world. I go on their site at least once a month to check out new shops. You can find some of the most beautiful items for great prices! I've honestly spent hours on their site and still not had time to look at all the lovely items featured!
Today I spotted Night Owl Paper Goods and honestly I felt like my heart stopped beating for just a second when I laid my eyes on their work!
Truly, it's breathtaking.
All their products are eco-friendly using sustainably harvested yellow birch.
They slice the wood thin to obtain a large number of unique products from a small amount of raw material. In turn, no water and very little power is used.
How incredibly cool is that?
They have LOTS of products from custom invitations, to journals, to totes! :)
Right now they are offering 20% off if you enter POPPY2009 at checkout.

Pictured are 3 of the 7 postcards I just ordered.
If you read this blog often you know that we will be doing a Postcard Guest Book! A project I'm VERY excited about!!!

Word to the wise, pick a pretty postcard because we'll be framing some of our favorites. ;)

Just Because

it made me smile.

Last night...

I baked Cinnamon Apple Monkey Bread (a sticky, gooey pastry)! It was mighty yummy! :P

My new favorite hobby is baking! I love it! If I had the time and more mouths to feed I'd probably bake every night! Cookies, brownies, quick breads, cupcakes! You name it, I wanna try it!

The problem with this new found passion is that I want to be in the best shape of my life for the wedding. I want to frolic on the beaches of Cancun with my new husband sporting a mighty fine set of abs!
And unfortunately Chocolate cake does not equal a six pack. :(
So for the time being I'm going to try and only bake for special occasions! I'm frowning at the thought of it.

Here are my reasonable goals:
Run 2-3 time a week
Do abs & lunges 4 times a week (I can easily do these in the comfort of our home)
Go to the gym at least twice a week
Only have 2 Diet Cokes a day
Eat healthy during the week and treat myself to a burrito or possibly a cupcake on the weekends. :)

I'll be checking in on the following Tuesday of each week with my progress from the week before.
I think having to be honest about it will help me...until I'm back on track.

P.S.-I chose that picture because I'm kinda diggin' the swimsuit! It's from VS and right now you get $20 off a purchase of $100. I think I'll order a couple suits as motivation!
XO's!

Why I love the Internet

On average I'd say I spend about 8-10 hours a day on the internet! Yep, that's right!
I love the plethora of information and beautiful items available at my fingertips!
Today while browsing I came across Penelope Anne Altman's illustrations that are available on My Dream Lines.
My plan as of now is to sale my beautiful gown after the wedding (it may be too hard for me, not sure), so having a gorgeous drawing of my dress would be the perfect memento to look back on.
Penelope will also draw pictures of any accessories you want in the picture as well.
Awwww!
Love.

Sprinkles

About 2 weeks ago I blogged about the Sprinkles cupcakes mixes Williams and Sonoma now sells.
I picked up the vanilla mix and decided to make them for the get together at the Cheds' house.
While they were quite scrumptious, they weren't as good as I was expecting them to be.
I also learned that I need to work on my decorating skills before the fiancee and I open up 'Cupcake Joes' (yep, that's the name of the cupcake/coffee shop we'll someday open).

Regardless of the look & taste I still thought I'd post a few pictures.
They make my tummy growl!
Lucky for me the Mr. and I have to head back to Charleston this weekend so I plan to hit up 'Cupcake' on King street for at least a half dozen of my favorite dessert. ;)

Item of the Day

I've always loved flowers but my true obsession with them only started a few months ago.
I anxiously await the day that the Asian family who sells gorgeous, cheap blooms, sets up shop on Tryon St. for the summer. :)
Last year I often treated myself to a bouquet on Thursday's so I could enjoy their beauty throughout the weekend.
People would ask me who bought me flowers and I would proudly exclaim, "ME"!

Well in the meantime I've been feeding my obsession with fake flowers blooms in the form of accessories!
This darling bangle from Anthropologie is just another item I'm adding to my wish list. :D
Purchase yours here!
